How did you first get interested in erotica and capturing the beauty of a woman nude?

I was talking about porn with a friend of mine, mainly about how bad most of it is, and we agreed that nearly all porn overlooked the sexiest part of the human body - the face. It is there, after all, that all our sensual secrets are hidden, and we’re all voyeurs at heart. We agreed that a web site of just the face, in orgasm, would be an interesting experiment and perhaps other people would find it sexy too. A few friends helped out by recording their faces, as did my friend, and we got another friend to design a suitably elegant page and put it all up. When the traffic got heavy we put in a billing system to charge access but it just seemed to get stronger and stronger, and now it has grown to 5 updates a week.

What is your favorite thing about running your own site?

For me, the reward is finding that other people share my erotic sensibilities.

Your website shows a great variation in content - what is your favorite?

In some of the Agony videos you’ll see a real loss of control, where the person gives themselves over totally to their orgasm; they’re incapable of reacting to anything but their internal spasms, and the camera is of no consequence to them. More often than not, they start to laugh when they come down at the end.

Describe your day in the office.

Agony isn’t full time for me, but I run it from the same office as my regular job. In the morning - around 10Am - I’m at my desk with my first coffee, checking the emails that have come in overnight. You’d be amazed how many of them are just gobbledygook, we seem to attract nutters for some reason, so the trash is my most popular desktop icon. I go through new submissions with Lauren and we decide what goes on the site and what doesn’t. I spend a lot of my time trying to make things work better and more easily, which means making changes to the web site, to the admin systems and things like our database. Sometimes I record the Confessions interviews. At the moment, I’m spending quite a bit of time working on a spin-off site, and facilitating the recording of material for it.

What sets your site from other similar sites?

Well the obvious difference between our site and mainstream porn is that there’s no nudity; the other difference, ours has all real orgasms.

What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself and the site in 5 years… 10 years?

We’re right in the middle of taking Agony to the next stage, a new site code which will make it easier to run so we can concentrate on improving the quality of submissions (without upsetting their natural spontaneity). And we have two new sites under construction. Each site takes about 3 to 6 months to get off the ground and not all are successful; we have a couple of sites which never got past the test stage for one reason or another. It’s costing a lot more to produce than, say, a phone sex line, but there’s no comparison, either technically or erotically.
